Aesthetics of «Danceability»1 or the Body Movement of «Theatricality»
Main Article Content
Abstract
A discussion of the aesthetic criteria on which a discourse on «danceability » is based, must consider the long-standing stage traditions which originated at the turn of the 20th century in the context of a «theatre revolution». From the aesthetic-stage experiments arise «body twirls» sustained on various actions, gestures and movements that are still used today in the performing arts together with the concept of «performativity». This essay aims to introduce the historical foundations and relate them to the aesthetic tradition of theatrical studies to understand the origins of theatricality.
