Abstract
This article tríes to locate the content of "Time that is divided", -first essay on photography of Ronal Kay's book From the space here. Signals for an American glance, edited in 1980-, in its context of critical writing, and also attempts to understand and interpret the significant projections of this text regarding the photographic theory developed in Chile.
