Sueño y Vigilia en la pintura de Benito Rojo: Una aproximación psicoestética
Main Article Content
Abstract
The authors investigate the role of dreams in the artistic production of the Chilean painter Benito Rojo from a psycho-aesthetic perspective, which acknowledges the specificity of art as a way of approaching reality. This article is a preliminary report of a larger study t of visual artists which is intented to examine the bonds between life (wakefulness and dream), creative process and art work. For this purpose, indepth interviews were conducted and one of his paintings inspired on a dream was analysed. The results demonstrated that the artist's motivations, creative process and painting are intimately bound to each other as much as to his life history and personality features.
