Sentido y sinsentido

Abstract

Semantic signs and the methods used to understand them are unlimited. We examine some of the ways in which the opposition between sense and nonsense works in ordinary language. Without defining these notions, we designate the sphere of human affairs as that which prima/14r has 'sense'. We discuss the case of the so-called 'theater of the absurd'; the distinction between sense and nonsense in analytical philosophy, particularly in Wittgenstein's early work; and Freud's attempt to elucidate the sense of dreams in psychonalisis. These examples show that humans are disgusted by nonsense and tend to negate it.
