Jorge Luis Borges y la invencion de los coincidentes puntuales
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article examines the conflict between linguistic sign and referent in some ofJorge Luis Borges's texts, and hisfailure to capture reality with the instrument of language. The way in which Borges looks to overeóme this próblem is through the invention ofthe artifaets callea "punctual coincidents. "A"punctual coincident" is a facsímile that coincides so rigorously with the original that it ceases to be an imitation and becomes a new reality, with its own attributes.
