The starting point of reasoning, developed here, for the construction of which I call metageography is, firstly, the recognition of a state of crisis in Geography, and secondly its role as a possibility, even though it is a science fragmentary, of understanding the modern world, since knowledge can be constituted as a movement toward an open totality. In a broader sense, it is about thinking the place of Geography in explaining the reality in constant change. If it is possible to think that, despite their advances, Geography is in a state of crisis? We face with the requirement to disclose their symptoms and consequently, the need to build a path forward the need to understand reality from or by geography. The metageography is to propose a theoretical-methodological way of overcoming the state of crisis in which the discipline is, from the social-spatial practice as an explanatory moment.
