Frida Kahlo and the European Avant-Garde: Transpicturality – Transmediality
Main Article Content
Abstract
The essay has as main goal to analyse and interpret the Diary and painting of Kahlo, going out from the theory of transmediality, as scriptural strategy and autoscenification of the genre and of the status of diary and painting, which leads to a tranformation in the parameters of what considered writing or painting. The paintings are described
as the result of a diversity of scenifi cations, masques, interpicturality and transpicturality, defined as a serial aleatoric strategy in the context of the European Avant-Garde.
